I use Org mode to track projects, tasks and a huge amount of other stuff. I’m trying out though having quicker access (as I’m not in Emacs all the time) to my key intentions for the week. Each week I’m going to create a new page in Day One and list the tasks I need to get done by the end of the week in order that I feel I’ve achieved what I need to. So I can get super fast access to this I have put together a (very) short workflow in Alfred.
Day One can give you a URL to refer to a specific entry. Click the top right menu button and select Copy Entry URL:
In Alfred my Open URL action then opens this URL in Day One.
I can now bring up Alfred, type
week and have my weekly intentions shown more or less immediately. I’m doing this a couple of times a day to remind me of what’s important - and not to get distracted on tasks which could be put off until I have more time.
